General terms

Booking Policy
By booking with Kvosin Hotel, Kirkjutorg 4, 101 Reykjavik, Iceland (the “Hotel”) or using any of the services made available by the hotel you acknowledge and agree to have read, understood and agreed to the terms set out below. These terms and conditions as may be amended from time to time, apply to all services provided by the hotel. All references in these General Terms to “Kvosin Hotel”, “Company”, “we”, “us”, “our” and like terms should be interpreted accordingly.

Arrival/Departure time
Check-in is from 3 PM and check-out before 11 AM.
Kvosin Hotel offers front desk and concierge assistance 24/7.

Payment Policy
We accept the following methods of payment:

  • Credit cards: MasterCard, Visa, American Express;
  • Bank transfers

Rate includes 11% VAT and lodging/city tax.

Booking 
In order to confirm a booking, we request guests’ credit/debit card details and that the guest authorises the use of the card for any sums that become owing to the hotel. For non-refundable rates, we request that the rate is paid in advance. 

The hotel shall also have the right to require full payment in advance or a deposit at the time of booking under other circumstances, such as [•].

No booking shall be treated as confirmed until the details and/or payment/deposit described in this paragraph have been provided. A booking confirmation will be sent from Kvosin Hotel to the email address provided in the booking.  

During your stay 
At check-in, we may request guests’ credit/debit card details and that guests authorise the use of the card for any sums that become owing to the hotel. 

All outstanding charges must be paid for in full on check-out from the hotel. If the outstanding charges do not exceed the authorisation taken on check-in, the authorisation for the amount not utilised will be released, however, we cannot control how long it takes for your bank to effect such release. If staying for multiple nights at the hotel we may require you to make payment for any outstanding charges on a more frequent basis during your stay. 

Cancellation Policy
Standard rate: If cancelled up to 48 hours before the arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later, 1 night is charged. In case of no-show, the full amount of the reservation will be charged.
Non-refundable rate: If cancelled, modified or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

For groups and more than 5 rooms from the same party, other cancellation policies apply. Please contact the hotel directly for further information.

Room Policies
Kvosin Hotel is a non-smoking hotel and that includes vaping. A fine for violation will be charged on the guest’s credit card used for check-in.

Guide dogs are accepted with prior arrangement at the hotel’s discretion, but otherwise no pets are allowed at the hotel.

An additional fee is charged for the use of sofa beds.

Hotel regulations
Guests shall comply with all rules, regulations and instructions at the hotel, including but not limited to security procedures, health and safety procedures and registration requirements.

Kvosin Hotel shall be entitled to refuse a guest entry or accommodation or to require a guest to leave the hotel if unreasonable behaviour is displayed, be it threatening or abusive, causing disturbance to other guests or any other unacceptable behaviour. 

Child policy
Infants at the age of 0-2 years stay free of charge in a baby cot.

Children under 13 years of age must be supervised by an accompanying adult at all times while on the Hotel’s premises.

Privacy
The privacy of our guests is of the utmost importance to us. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for further information on how and why we process the personal data of our guests. 

Loss or damage
The hotel will not be responsible for the loss or damage of any property left in the hotel. The hotel will not be liable for any indirect, consequential or pure economic loss or any loss of profit, goodwill or opportunity (whether caused by the negligence of the hotel, its employees, contractor or agents or otherwise). The hotel’s total liability shall not exceed the value of the charges received by it under the contract.

Lost and found items will remain on the hotel’s premises for a period of 4 weeks. To claim any lost and found items, a guest should contact the hotel.

Complaints or comments
We strive to cater to the individual needs of our guests at all times, so if you feel there is an area that we can improve, or if you are unsatisfied with your visit, any complaint or comment regarding a stay at one of our hotels should be reported right away to the hotel’s reception at the time of your stay so that it can be resolved at the time.

Force Majeure
Kvosin Hotel cannot be held liable for delays or cancellations that are caused by events that are beyond its reasonable control, including, but not limited to strikes, restriction on supplies, acts of civil or military authority, acts of terrorism, insurrections, peace or army action, civil commotion, demonstrations, natural disasters, pandemics, epidemics and diseases. 

Governing Law
These General terms are governed by the laws of Iceland. Any dispute or claim with or against Kvosin Hotel shall be under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Icelandic courts.
